Wally Eater
Since 1968, Wally Eater been responsible for, been
associated with, and invested in 61 products, product lines and new company
introductions.
Currently, Mr. Eater is involved in the formation of the 2010 Fund, which will
invest in technologies licensed from 25 leading US research universities, including
California Institute of Technology, Stanford, and Carnegie Mellon, that account
for about 2/3 of federal research spending. Mr. Eater also serves on several
nonprofit boards, including those of the Tech Coast Venture Network (TCVN)
and the Los Angeles Venture Association (LAVA).
He started his career at Procter & Gamble in brand management on their largest brand and subsequently went to American Can Co. to work on new product introductions. Mr. Eater went on to have profit-and-loss responsibility for three divisions of a Fortune 500 company subsidiary. Two were start-up/early-stage and one was a successful turnaround. He also had P&L responsibilities as a product manager at a Colgate-Palmolive subsidiary.
Prior to serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam era,
Mr. Eater received a B.S. and M.B.A. in Marketing from the University of Colorado,
where as a student he also built a $3 million-revenue ad agency.
